Sarah A. Sarjuprasad:

Sarah is a Guyanese native who grew up in the quiet suburb of Section 'K' Campbellville in Georgetown, Guyana.

She migrated to the USA in her young adulthood where she attended and graduated from Columbia University NYC with her degree in Creative Writing. She later became a Teaching Fellow, pursing her Masters in Education while teaching ENL at a NYC public high school, before resigning from her position.

Soon after becoming a stay-at-home mom, Sarah fell in love with reading picture books to her daughter and decided to pursue the publishing of her own picture book story - Frisky and Freckles - that she had written years prior during her studies at Columbia University. She has since become a prolific writer of many children's stories, among which are George Frost: Creator of Winter, Funzie Daizy, Frisky and Freckles, Benny's Destiny, and others.

Sarah's stories use a diverse range of characters - angels, trees, flowers, animals, vegetables, and humans - to entertain the imaginations of children while teaching fundamental character values. Among such values as are showcased in her stories are: being willing to try new things, leading through serving, being solution-oriented, integrity, continuing to be oneself amid rejection, and taking manageable steps.

Sarah also attends author visits upon request.

Sarah lives in Queens, NYC, with her husband and their four daughters. When she's not undertaking the tasks of SAS PUBLISHING, she chases behind little feet, cooks big meals for a family of 6, and does all the things required of the CEO of the Sarjuprasad household!

Mompreneur, Author & Founder of SAS PUBLISHING

"After becoming a mom and experiencing the joy of reading adorable picture books such as Llama Llama Red Pajama to my oldest daughter, I started seeking more books of that kind: wholesome and delightful -the kind of stories that make you feel cozy on the inside!

Seeking out such books quickly became a hit and miss situation -more misses than hits! It became too frequent that I purchased picture books or borrowed them from the library, only to be disappointed by them being dull and lacking heart.

Then, with divine timing, God reminded me of my own picture book story Frisky and Freckles which I had written years before, during my college days. I had an inner knowing that I couldn't complain about what I had the ability to fix! So, I embarked on the process of editing that story. I completely reworked the story from prose to rhyming lines until I was pleased with the story's transformation.

The remarkable moment in my author journey happened when, suddenly, unexpectedly, I received another story idea, even though I had never received inspiration for a second story in all those years since I wrote my first. This was followed by inspiration after inspiration - from dreams, visions, and thoughts dropped into my mind - of more story ideas, until I wrote four more stories in less than two years.

It is my hope that every story I write carries the essence of beauty and inspiration from Heaven to make every child and adult reader feel cozy and hopeful on the inside -just like the good ol' children's classics that warm hearts decades after they've been written and published, to each new generation that arises!"
